Sports Zone Upgrade in West Sussex

Brief
This primary school approached us with the ambition to upgrade their playground and provide their KS1 and KS2 children with somewhere they can hold their sports matches as well as take part in stimulating PE lessons. They also wanted somewhere for spectators to watch from.
Solution
Our solution was to design a multi-functional sports zone at one side of their outdoor area. This would support year-round use and elevate what the school had to offer in regard to sports provisions. The project included the installation of a 4G football pitch, a mini netball court using artificial sports grass, and a shaded viewing area.
Project Details
4G Football Pitch
- 30m x 15m 4G pitch with lines for football.
- Bespoke 2m diameter centre circle (school logo)
- 2x Freestanding football goals
4G artificial grass is a non-infill that provides a high quality, low maintenance football pitch of the highest standard. For this pitch, it was combined with white Multi-Play Sports Grass to create the white football lines.
Mini Netball Pitch
- Blue artificial sports grass netball court with yellow lines for netball
- Bespoke 1m diameter centre circle (school logo)
- Freestanding netball hoops
Viewing Area
- 16m x 3m Rainbow Shade Net Pergola with bench seating
- Luxury Artificial Grass surfacing
Our Rainbow Shade Net Pergolas provide an exciting spectator zone for sports areas, with the shade netting providing a UV resistance of up to 98% depending on the colour. They are also manufactured using play-grade timber and are constructed to conform to BS EN 1176.
Result
The area has been transformed into a space where children are encourages to play sports, helping them improve their fitness and sports technique, as well as building vital skills like communication, team work and resillience.
