Brief

This school initially enquired with us as they wanted to look at options for a MUGA or sports surface for their school field that could be used all year round. This space would be used for football and netball matches and tournaments, as well as somewhere for PE lessons to be held.

Solution

We installed a weather-proof multi-sports pitch that will provide a sports facility for the children for years to come. This is a valuable resource for the school, encouraging students to develop skills like communication, teamwork and resilience.

Project Details

This project contains some of our most popular choices for school playground MUGAs and sports pitches, including the fencing and the sports surface chosen. This includes:

Artificial Sports Grass

Our Multi Play Sports Grass is perfect for playground sports including football, netball and basketball due to its short pile height. It is also durable, low maintenance and available in a range of colours – making it perfect for multiple sport markings.

This pitch also includes a bespoke centre circle – the school’s logo was used as the centre circle of the pitch to add a touch of personality to the MUGA.

Twin Mesh Fencing and Recess Goal

This MUGA has 656 Twin Mesh Fencing surrounding the area, with recesses for football goals. Both our Twin Mesh Fencing and Recess Goal Ends are manufactured using galvanised steel and are powder coated to make them corrosion resistant.

Herringbone Drainage System

When creating a herringbone drainage system, a main central pipe is installed on a downwards slope and then several lateral pipes are connected to the main pipe at slight angles. We always recommend this with our sports pitches to allow suitable drainage and make them usable all year round.
