Brief

Allenton Community Primary School in Derby that prides itself on its four key values: resilience; resourcefulness; reflectiveness; and reciprocity. We have worked with the school on several occasions, including developing their ‘Superhero Zone’ – a quad area in their school dedicated to their headteacher that they tragically lost in 2021. Following on from this project, the school reached out to us to see if we could help them in designing a personalised bike shelter for their school playground, featuring the same characters, as well as a canopy for the parents to wait outside in.

Solution

To ensure we provided the most cost-effective option for their budget, we came up with the idea of revamping their existing bike shelter - this included repainting the shelter and providing new printed boards with bespoke graphics, designed by us.

Project Details

Bike Shelter

We utilized and transformed their existing bike shelter by cleaning it and repainting it in grey – we decided this was the most cost-effective option as the frame of the bike shelter was in good condition. We then removed the existing panels and refitted personalised aluminium di-bond printed boards, designed by our design team with their superhero characters on.

Canopy

We also designed and installed a 8m x 3m Post Mounted Timber Canopy with two full sides with windows, creating a completely sheltered waiting area at the entrance to the school.

Result

“Another project, another job well done! Always in trusted hands with PGCO, and they continue to deliver on the projects set for the school. Absolutely love our new additions and can't wait for the other projects to be completed in the coming week.”
