Physical Play Area in Surrey

Brief

As a valued repeat customer of The Playground Company, Claremont Fan Court School returned to us with a vision to transform an underused grassed area into an exciting physical play space for their KS1 pupils. The brief was to create an engaging environment that would encourage active play, develop strength, coordination and confidence, while making the most of the available space. The school particularly liked the thought of a Monkey Ladder, so we knew this had to be part of the final design. 

Project Details

To prevent the area getting muddy during wet weathers and keep the space usable all year round, we installed our Luxury Artificial Grass Surfacing. We added patches of our Multi-Play Artificial Grass as, due to its lower pile height and increased polyethylene content, this surface is more hardwearing and so great for areas where children are running, jumping and landing. This also helps to create designated zones for each piece of equipment, assistant staff to keep clear supervision and maintaining safety during break and lunch times. 

In terms of products for the area, we added a range of Trim Trail items, including: 

• Twirling Traverse

• Trapeze Traverse

• Monkey Ladder

We also added a Sleeper Sand Pit where children can dig, play and explore. 

Result

The school now has an exciting active play and adventure area for their KS1 pupils to enjoy all year round. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and hope the children and staff enjoy it for years to come.
