Introduction
Mandeville Primary School in Hertfordshire is a primary school for children aged 4 to 11, based in Sawbridgeworth. This school is one of our valued returning customers - last year we turned an old, unused muddy space into an area for physical play with a Clamber Stack Sorella, Trim Trail items and new Luxury Artificial Grass, to create a space for their KS1 pupils to use.
Brief
For the next phase of their playground developments, the school wanted to transform an empty grass area into a space that the KS2 children could use for exercise. They asked us for a design that created an outdoor gym with all-weather surfacing.
Project Details
We created multiple designs that showed different options for outdoor gym equipment with surfacing, to make sure the school could see all the options we had to offer. The school decided to go for a colourful design. They chose Green Artificial grass with colourful spots to make zones for the gym items.
The Rower enhances muscle strength from the upper and lower limbs, chest and abdominal muscles.
The Double Slalom Skier strengthens the waist and enhances cardiopulmonary function.
The Double Health Walker works the hip and ankle joints while strengthening the leg and core muscles.
The Waist Twister develops the core muscles while engaging the hips, glutes and lower back.
Result
The school now have a bright, eye-catching area where the students can exercise helping them to be healthier while still having fun at break times. Multiple children can use the items at the same time developing friendships and communication while using them together.
