📍Highlands Primary School, Ilford
🗓 October 2024

Introduction
Highlands Primary School is a valued repeat customer of ours and provides high quality education to children aged 3-11 years in Ilford, Essex. The vision at Highlands is to create a community where children are at the heart of everything they do, by acknowledging individuality and nurturing every child’s personal, social and emotional development to promote a positive behaviour towards learning.
Area of installation

Brief
Highlands Primary School emphasizes the importance of literacy skills and advocates for a love of reading across the school, especially encouraging children to read for fun outside of their subjects. To ensure this became an integral part of the school day, they wanted to create a designated ‘Reading Nook’ in one of their classrooms – this space would be a social den for children to use to congregate and discuss what they are reading or even take a moment to read by themselves.
Project Details
Our design team were incredibly excited to begin this project, as it was an opportunity to demonstrate their creative thinking in a completely new way. We came up with a design that combined a cozy seating space with imagination and creativity – perfect for a classroom reading area.
This bespoke Indoor Tower has two levels – a quiet area at the bottom, for reading and regulation, and a platform at the top, accessed via the Artificial Grass covered steps, for children to socialise.
Result
Having this indoor tower unit installed has benefitted both teachers and learners, by creating a more positive and organised classroom space that encourages a universal love of storytelling, reading and creativity!
